iPhone & iPod touch 2.0 App Store Information

  • the screen at right is what an app's page looks like on the iPhone
  • yes, you can download small apps over EDGE, it's not just limited to 3G
  • the installation process for a Free app (using AIM as the example), follows:

Tap the FREE button (or if there is price, the price), it turns to INSTALL.

Enter your iTunes account information.

The iPhone returns to the home screen and shows the download progress of your app.

The app is ready! This is the first screen you see when AIM is launched for the first time.

Once downloaded and installed, the first time you launch Remote it asks you to link it to an iTunes library.

You add a library by pairing it to a computer on the same wireless network and entering the authorizion code in iTunes.

iTunes informs you when an iPhone is registered with the computer and adds it to the Devices list.

Browsing iTunes is very similar to using the iPod functionality. Playback controls and display are identical.
